True Grit

The quick, creative, and appropriately dated dialogue was a pleasant treat. This movie truly lets the performances take you on a ride. Newcomer Hailee Steinfeld, who everyone is rightfully raving about is right to be raved about. Damon, Bridges, and Brolin all bring the noise, too. Every character is allowed to develop and you truly connect with all of them, even the ones just passing by.
Such is the talent of the Coen Brothers.

The scenes are easy to look are gorgeously shot and pacing wise, for a simmering western, nothing really drags on too much.

My biggest shock was that Roger Maris himself was in fact Lucky Ned. Barry Pepper returns to us and he was dynamite.

Best Line -
Lucky Ned: What is your intention Rooster? You think one on four is a dogfall?
Rooster Cogburn: I mean to kill you in one minute, Ned.

Score:
9 out of 10
